Brown Bear, Brown Bear...

What do you see? I see everyone wearing brown! This blog is documenting wacky sartorial alignment at the Library. It occurs when everyone spontaneously wears the same color on the same day, completely unplanned. Cue The Twilight Zone theme music, please. We must be part of a vast national Roy G. Biv conspiracy, or just have impeccable style. What do you think?

While contemplating this mind-bending puzzler, you might want to consider checking out some of our brown-themed books:
Blood and Chocolate by Annette Curtis Klause. A werewolf falls for a human meat-boy... Her pack thinks she's nutty.
Chocolate for a Teen's Spirit by Kay Allenbaugh. "Heartwarming, haunting, and often hilarious." While you don't usually find those adjectives in the same sentence, this collection of stories pulls it off.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl. It's never too late to read this childhood classic.
The Story Behind Chocolate. Let's throw some nonfiction into the mix! The scientific name for the cacao tree is Theobroma cacao, which means "food of the gods." Quite fitting!

Did we miss any good titles? Leave a comment and let us know.

Happy Roy G. Brown Day!

This is very cute. Ironically, I wore brown that day...only, I couldn't get a picture of myself to share. Let's all randomly do this again!

Sean- I was hoping you'd send a picture! Oh well, that just means that next time you have to be here, whenever next time is. :)

In April, our teen lounge book display theme is P-o-e-T-R-E-E! Stopy by to write a haiku on a leaf and plant it on our tree. We'll have poetry books on display.

My favorite haiku so far:
This tiny pimple
So sunny bright on my cheek
Is bigger than I am.
--Richard Wright

You can also participate in our poetry contest (for all ages) this month and submit up to two poems. Look on the 2nd floor for the display--we already have poems up! (Adults are winning! We need more teen entries!) Okay, I'm done writing my essay now.
